YOGA

So as we’ve been working on some of the new business ideas my wife and I are trying to create, I’ve discovered that one of the more difficult chores since my involuntary departure from my job has been telling clients and colleagues that I’m no longer gainfully employed. It’s been more difficult than I’d imagined. An odd thing that has come out of that has been the comment (or perhaps recommendation) that I was now free to drink during the day. Huh? If you know Bone, you know I occasionally like to toss back an adult beverage or two. But during the day, the workday? Nope – strangely, I do have some standards.

So it got me to thinking…have I been drinking too much lately? If so, it can’t possibly be good for me – plus, the only exercise I seem to get anymore is chasing my own tail.

So I decided to focus my energies on a new healthy regimen. Better food, more vitamins, and exercise. I considered weights, cardio, swimming, and then it struck me…Yoga!!

Yoga is great for the mind, spirit and body, and turns out – I’ve already had a bit of experience in practicing yoga!

Here’s a fun photo essay – showing you what I mean…there’s the authentic Yoga position and an authentic Bonehead position right next to it.

Position One – Savasana – Position of total relaxation.

Position Two – Balasana – Position that brings the sensation of peace and calm.

Position Three – Setu Bandha Sarvangasana – This position calms the brain and heals tired legs.

Position Four – Marjayasana – Position stimulates the midriff area and the spinal column.

Position Five – Halasana – Excellent for back pain and insomnia.

Position Six – Dolphin – Excellent for the shoulder area, thorax, legs, and arms.

Position Seven – Salambhasana Great exercise to stimulate the lumbar area, legs, and arms.

Position Eight – Ananda Balasana – This position is great for massaging the hip area.

Position Nine – Pigeon – Tones the body, and builds flexibility and helps get rid of ‘stress’.

Apparently, I’m already following an exercise regimen – so I’m all good!
